Summary of Position
Our online infrastructure is built using WordPress to drive our organisation and therefore, we are looking for a strong, talented and ambitious PHP WordPress developer to play a core role in our NACUE Online Development team. The successful candidate will be expected to create sites from scratch, enhance existing ones and develop additional functionality where required. The successful candidate will be a self-starter who will be expected to work with our development team to roll-out exciting solutions. You will also have strong time management skills with exceptional attention to detail.
Duties and Responsibilities
- To create entire WordPress-driven sites from layered .psd or HTML prototype designs provided by our front-end developers and graphic designers
- To further develop WordPress-driven web sites that power our online infrastructure
- To develop effective ways to present learning resources (documents, videos etc.) in an organised and interactive manner to enhance the user experience for our members
- To create template layouts that can be modified and adapted to different online projects
- To create data capture forms that store data in MySQL databases or retrieve information from our CRM’s API (PHP library supported)
- To apply, adapt or create WordPress plug-ins for the needs of our online projects
- To conduct rigorous testing of the developed code at various stages to detect bugs, reduce technical errors and ensure a seamless user experience
- Working with the full NACUE Online development team of designers, developers, database administrators and project manager
Skills
- Experience of object-orientated PHP programming and developing PHP WordPress sites Good knowledge of HTML
- CSS and MySQL is required with JavaScript experience desired Understanding/experience of the full development life cycle required and knowledge of lean startup methodology desired A portfolio of work created for personal
