Summary of Position:
Reporting to the CEO and working closely with the Board of Directors and key departmental heads you will oversee all financial aspects of the company strategy and be responsible for the flow of financial information to internal and external stakeholders.
This is a part-time/freelance position, but with fixed meeting commitments, since this is a board position
Skills
- Duties & Responsibilities overall control of the company's accounting function
- transactions and accountancy matters
- including audit systems
- VAT and taxation preparation of budgets and financial reports
- including reports for Government agencies and other external stakeholders financial planning and related ongoing advice for the chief executive and directors
- including regular attendance at monthly board meetings plus others as may be required responsibility for financial review and sign-off for all projects
- proposals
- event budgets and other activities which have financial implications formulating financial targets and budgets in accordance with the strategy determined by the board
- including long term financial planning corporate finance: managing company policies regarding working capital requirements

- employee remuneration
- expenses and benefits etc. preparing
- reports to the Charities Commission and Statutory Accounts. ensuring that the regulatory requirements of all statutory bodies are met regarding all the company's financial affairs overseeing and guiding the work and development of NACUE’s finance manager working closely with the CEO to ensure that appropriate financial procedures are being used by all and due financial planning is undertaken Education & Experience qualified member of an approved accountancy body or holder of an equivalent qualification at least 3 years experience post qualification in finance experience in managing staff working knowledge of Sage is essential experience of departmental cost and revenue analysis/reporting is preferred Person Specification proactive individual who is eager to contribute to growth of a young start-up through careful financial management yet flexibility to provide support and understanding of finance in a start-up strong communication and interpersonal skills
