1. Frontend Developer
Description:
We are looking for talented web developers to build a front-layer to
the website. This will include creating new features and improving
existing features. Any applicant must be passionate about
understanding users and building compelling features for them.
Development of high quality features is paramount to our growth and
our frontend developers must be willing to create many iterations of a
feature until we perfect it.
Requirements:
-Extensive experience writing AJAX web applications
-High proficiency in PHP, Javascript, and HTML
-Knowledge of relational databases such as MySQL/PostgreSQL
-Knowledge of Linux
-Good sense of design
2. Backend Engineer
Description:
We are looking for talented engineers to build a fast, reliable
backend system. This system will include daemons written in C/C++, as
well as extensions to be used by PHP to increase performance of
computationally intensive calculations.
Requirements:
-High proficiency in C/C++
-Deep understanding of algorithms, time/space complexity, and scalability
-Knowledge of Linux and associated programming tools
-Familiarity with network protocols and socket programming
-Knowledge of relational databases such as MySQL/PostgreSQL
-Familiarity with PHP
-Proficiency in other scripting languages (Perl/Python) preferred
3. Systems Developer /Administrator
Description:
We are looking for Linux experts who want to build and optimize an
architecture to support an AJAX application with millions of users.
This system will include DBMS replication/clustering, caching systems
such as memcached, distributed file systems, and static content
delivery networks - all primarily based on open source solutions. Any
applicant must be passionate about building, optimizing, and
maintaining these systems to make the website perform as fast and
reliably as possible.
Responsibilities may include:
- write and maintain scripts to configure servers and respond to failures
- develop benchmarking and monitoring tools
- optimize server configurations, including building versions of
common open source software
- write and maintain daemons in C/C++ to maximize the performance
Skills:
- Linux expertise, including compiling kernels
- Basic system administration experience
- Knowledge of database (MySQL/PostgreSQL) and webserver administration
- Basic scripting proficiency in PHP/Python/Perl and bash at minimum,
strong programming background in C/C++ preferred
- Expertise in information management technology, with emphasis on
relational databases, is strongly preferred
- Knowledge of network security practices
4. User Interface and Design Expert
Description:
We are looking for someone with a clean sense of design, keen sense of
web usability standards, and a love for awesome cross browser
HTML/CSS/JavaScript programming.
Requirements:
- Build web user interfaces using AJAX related technologies.
- Design elegant and simple UI's.
- Maintain the current code base and improve upon existing
CSS/HTML/JavaScript.
- Minimum of 2 years of UI programming experience.
- Expert JavaScript, HTML, and CSS skills.
- Deep understanding of web-based design.
- Experience working in UNIX/Linux environments.
- Experience in PHP a plus.
- Cross browser, cross platform knowledge of CSS and HTML a plus.
