Enternship: Adventurer required at Adventurists HQ (Full-time)

Date added: Tuesday, 18th December

For a job with arguably the most exciting company in the world, see below! (it's with the Adventurists, creators of the Mongol Rally - a silly adventure undertaken by Jack Osbourne for his tv series and 199 other silly people this summer)

We're looking for someone to join us at Adventurists HQ to help with the fight to make the world less boring and we thought some of you might be interested, or know someone else that fancies it…

The job is full time and based in the Bristol office in the UK so the new adventure organiser would need to be based in or near Bristol most of the time. It would also involve working abroad, possibly for fairly long periods so you must be willing to clock up some weird looking stamps in your passport for the cause if you want to apply…

The day to day job spec is seriously varied and would include event planning and management plus a load of communications and website related stuff based around the adventures, the teams taking part, the sponsors, the authorities and the official charities. We need an all-rounder!

Experience in events, project management or communications would be ideal but being a general good sort, ability to travel and work abroad and unflinching commitment to the cause is essential.

The focus of the adventures is raising sacks of cash for awesome charities so you need to like the world and people a lot and want to help some of those people who have got a crappy deal get a better one. We want the teams taking part in the adventures to raise a million pounds a year, and when we reach that target we'll just double it and carry on…

This is the brief version but the work will involve this marvellous stuff:

- Planning and managing UK events and parties for teams before and after the adventures

- Flying to obscure parts of the world to set up adventures and man the finish line (including charming the pants off local authorities and Governments)

- Liaising with official adventure charities in the UK and abroad

- Getting stuck into a seriously diverse job helping to run an award-winning social enterprise

Please email questions and CVs to us at jobs@theadventurists.com

The salary is fairly modest to start with but the job is amazing and as the Adventurists gradually conquer the world with balls-out adventures there's plenty of scope for taking our jobs and running things if you're more clever than we are.

Deadline for applications: Wednesday 19th December at 14:00
Interviews: Thursday 20th and Friday 21st December in Bristol, UK
Job starts: Mid January 2008 (this is flexible for the right person)
Money: Around £18k pa depending on experience

If you're not based in or near Bristol at the moment but you've just wet yourself, drop us a line anyway – we want to hear from you!
