Research guru at CleanStar Ventures

We are looking for a research guru with socio-entrepreneurial tendencies to help inform the development of our projects and ventures, initially as an intern. Our group is focused on the transformation of remote rural communities in Asia, Africa and Latin America into valued suppliers in global energy and environmental markets, through the use of sustainable biofuel forestry. We operate through both corporate and non-profit structures, for a variety of reasons. We have existing operations in India, and are currently developing commercial-scale projects in Brazil, Benin, Mozambique, China and Australia. We actively utilize our non-negotiable founding principles to ensure that our projects achieve their blended value potential. The person in question needs to be extremely literate, intelligent and widely read. There is a requirement for background knowledge in the areas of energy, environment, resource scarcity, enterprise-led development and social enterprise. Experience in remote areas of developing countries is also a major plus - be it as a backpacker, tourist, volunteer or otherwise. Immediate tasks to be undertaken include: 1 Research input for major foundation-led project in Mozambique. Research input for major commercially-focussed project in Benin. Research input for major environmental investment project in China. Research input for major blended-value project in Brazil. Successful interns who share our values and focus, and are prepared to invest their time and energy with us, will be given the opportunity to design a permanent role for themselves in our organization.
