Enternship: Enternship with start-up: Snagsta.com (commences mid-April)

Date added: Thursday, 27th March

This is great opportunity for an Entern who wants experience in launching a brand new dotcom start-up. Our company is called Snagsta and our site helps its users find things Google can't (see http://snagsta.com and our blog http://blog.snagsta.com for more details)

We are a small company with big ambitions to build a site that will help make the web useful again.

The candidate will get an opportunity to work closely with the founders of this consumer internet start-up. The site hasn’t launched yet, so, despite the fact that the business has global aspirations, the candidate will get to experience the trials and tribulations of start-up life at a very early stage.

S/he will learn a great deal and have fun doing it.

We are looking for an Entern to specifically help us with our:

1. Site metrics and KPI development

2. Online marketing activities

Our key deliverables are as follows:

1. Site Metrics & KPI:

Establish the key metrics appropriate for the Snagsta business model

(e.g. subscriber metrics – growth, viral co-efficient, active user base and also revenue metrics – clickthroughs, rev/click, etc - Please read this article to give you a flavour:
http://redeye.firstround.com/2008/01/after-the-techc.html)

Work with the team to ensure these can be measured (propose alternatives for those that can’t initially be measured)

Identify and recommend which metrics should become KPI

Establish the process for converting metrics into actionable conclusions (the metrics the candidate selects will have a direct impact on direction of the business)

2. Online marketing activities

We need you help to further establish relationships with high-profile bloggers in our key launch communities. We need to tell the world about Snagsta so we're looking for someone enthusiastic and full of positive energy.

You will be tasked with building awareness and generate enthusiasm for Snagsta online. You will need to convince bloggers to provide us with lists for the site either from their existing posts or to create lists from scratch. You will also be encouraged to post your own content to the Snagsta blog as well as some of your own lists. You will use various online tools in order to measure the influence of a wide selection of bloggers and to then target the right people with the right message.

Skills & Experience:

In order to enjoy this job you must love the Internet and be a regular reader of blogs. If you have your own blog already then even better.

Analytical skills

You should definitely know you way around an Excel spreadsheet (and other Microsoft office products). Experience with Wordpress is a nice-to-have.

Interfaces: Daily contact with 2 of Snagsta's 4 founders

Remuneration: £100/week
