The Role
The Role: Want to work for an exciting startup? Right now UKWS is changing the world of international students and workers coming to the UK to study and work, encouraging economic growth all over the UK and has even more ambitious plans for the future. To help turn our vision into reality, UKWS is currently looking for an awesome developer to join our team and take charge of our websites. We're a small but talented team of ambitious entrepreneurs. We're looking for someone with strong opinions on what good code is, who's hungry to make a dent in the universe, who gets stuff done and wants to work in an environment where their work will directly affect millions of people all over the world. Does this sound like you? If it does then get in touch! We're more interested in what you've done than which school or university you've been to, and value raw talent and drive over experience. When applying include links to portfolios and any recent projects you've completed. We want to get a taste of your style and see what you're about. The UKWS platform is written in Wordpress. We have a cloud based infrastructure with one command deploy, use industry standards to conform to best practices as much as possible. If you're not a programmer but great anyway then do apply, we're happy for you to learn on the job.

• Good knowledge of MySQL, PHP, ASP, XHTML, CSS, Ajax, Javascript and JQuery
• Knowledge of various CMS platforms, such as WordPress, Joomla, Magento and Drupal
• Good knowledge of databases & full e-commerce integration
• Ability to use Photoshop and cut up design templates • Good level of written and spoken English

UK Work Study specialises in helping international workers and students prepare for their move to the UK. The Work Pack and Study Pack contain numerous items to assist in the move, this includes the setting up of a bank account before arrival, pre-paid cash card, a UK telephone number, free international money transfer, National Insurance number assistance, comprehensive guides to the UK and partnering with other specialist companies to cover all the key areas of moving and providing expert advice.
