The Role
Sustainable Ventures
Sustainable Venture Development Partners (“Sustainable Ventures”) work with cleantech investors, entrepreneurial managers, and corporates to originate, build and grow sustainable businesses. Our portfolio companies benefit from the on-going support of the Sustainable Ventures management team who have already established 11 low carbon ventures, attracting over £200m in equity commitments. Portfolio company growth is accelerated and de-risked through access to our extensive network, deep sector expertise and venture development experience.
Sustainable Venture Intelligence ("SVI")
Sustainable Venture Intelligence (SVI), a business unit of Sustainable Venture Development Partners, provides market leading low carbon venture development intelligence and analysis for corporate venturing teams, seed and VC investors, entrepreneurs, venture development groups and consultancies. The SVI team has extensive experience in the low carbon, B2B intelligence and event management sectors and as a result is distinctly positioned to provide an invaluable service to stakeholders involved in all aspects of the development of new low carbon businesses.
We provide our clients with wide-ranging and bespoke intelligence reports examining the UK’s regulatory regime, investment climate, business opportunities and on-going corporate and independent venturing activity in their chosen low carbon field.
SVI also produces the Sustainable Venture Development Conference and Awards Ceremony, highlighting best practice and proprietary venture development techniques for entrepreneurs and corporate venturing units with interest in the low carbon sector.
The Role
Sustainable Ventures are seeking an enthusiastic marketing intern with a strong interest in the cleantech / sustainability venturing space. The succesful candidate will be responsible for building and executing marketing plans for a selection of market-leading reports and the 2012 Sustainable Venture Development Conference and Awards Ceremony. The internship will run from January - April 2012 with the potential for full time opportunities on completion. A commitment of 2-3 days/wk will be required.
Required Skills
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent); graduate attaining at least a 2:1 (or equivalent) preferred. Further education advantageous
Excellent oral and written communication skills (fluency in English essential)
Significant track record of achievement in areas relevant to the role’s scope of responsibilities – preferably including the marketing of events and/or published materials
Knowledge of (or interest in) the venture development, sustainability and low carbon sectors desirable but not essential
Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain productive relationships
Ability to work independently, taking initiative and ‘ownership’ of assignments
Excellent organisational and time management skills
Strong proficiency in MS Office suite with experience in using MS PowerPoint and Word for communication (and production of marketing materials)
