The Role

 

The UK Astia Office is currently seeking a sharp, talented individual with entrepreneurial drive to join the Astia team for three months (with the potential to extend) beginning January 2012.

 

Description of Position

  • Assist in developing the entrepreneurial ecosystem map in the East of England, centered around the Cambridge area
  • Assist in compiling data and draft engagement strategy for specific stakeholders
  • Contribute innovative ideas around entrepreneurial leadership and women
  • Assist in administrative duties related to the Astia Entrepreneur Programme in Europe, taking place March 2012
  • Participate in and support Astia events and gain the opportunity to meet lauded entrepreneurs, CEOs and investors
  • Represent Astia at investor and entrepreneur-focused events in the East of England
  • Time commitment: Minimum of one full day per week, flexibility with days/times. Ideally, the candidate will be available for the entire week of the March programme delivery in Cambridge
  • Location: Cambridge and/or London

As a US not-for-profit organisation, Astia is only able to offer this position as a non-paid internship.

  • Strong research, writing and project management skills
  • Proven passion for a cause aligned with the Astia mission (i.e. women’s participation, entrepreneurship, economic recovery, innovation, etc.)
  • Preferable: Understanding of high-growth, investment and entrepreneur climate/ecosystem
  • Astia believes that innovation starts with 50/50 – engaging men and women as leaders, equally. Both men and women are encouraged to apply to this position.
  • Key dates for Astia in 2012 include 19 – 24 March are therefore it is preferable that the candidate is available for part, if not all, of this week.
