Moneymagpie.com is a consumer website giving money-saving and money-making information. It was set up in April 2007 by TV money expert Jasmine Birtles. The site runs a ‘fremium’ model offering information and bargains for free to readers. It makes money through affiliate commissions, advertising, sponsorship and providing content to other websites, magazines and newspapers (including the Daily Express, Quickconsumers.com, Readers Digest and Yourchoices.co.uk). It has also started to sell eBooks and will be running paid-for money management workshops for the public in 2012. As the bulk of the traffic comes through ‘make money’ keywords it is also introducing a new network-selling product for readers to make money from, which will bring income to the site.
